Ronald G. Silikovitz, Ph.D. is a NJ licensed psychologist in private
practice. He earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Child Psychology at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana in 1969. Prior to that, he had earned his B.A. in Psychology at the University of
Pennsylvania in 1962 and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He has been in the private practice of psychology since 1980.
Dr. Silikovitz is a member and active participant in many professional organizations. These include the American Psychological Association, the American Professional Society on
the Abuse of Children, the Professional Academy of Custody Evaluators, the American College of Forensic Examiners, the New Jersey Psychological Association, the New Jersey Chapter of
the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, and the Society of Psychologists in Private Practice.
For the Society of Psychologists in Private Practice, he has served as President, Treasurer, Representative to the New Jersey Psychological Association Executive Board, as founder of
the Psychologists Educating the Public Program, and as consultant for the development of four public education videotapes: Coping with the Recession, Balancing Priorities in the 90's,
Money Matters and Your Mate, and Why Bright Children Fail.
He is the Treasurer for the New Jersey Psychological Association. He has served as Secretary and as Chair for the Committee on Legislative Action. He has served as chair of the
Committee on Children, Youth and Families and cochair of Task Forces on Child Custody and Visitation Assessment, Enhancing the Delivery of Psychological Services to the Division of
Youth and Family Services, and Concerned Professionals for the Accurate Assessment of Child Sexual Abuse. He is an active member and past cochair of the Forensic Committee and also a
member of the Interprofessional Relations Committee.
He is President and Founder of the New Jersey Chapter of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts.
In the community, Dr. Silikovitz is a member of the West Orange and the Union County Chambers of Commerce, and a charter member of the West Orange Human Relations
Commission. He is Past President of the B'nai B'rith Northern New Jersey Council. At Congregation Oheb Shalom, he is a past Vice President and past Secretary. He is an elected
member of the Board of Trustees and a member of the Ushering and Job Relief committees. He served for many years as a member of the Budget Committee.
Dr. Silikovitz is a licensed psychologist with offices in West Orange and Elizabeth, New Jersey. He is currently under contract to the Union County Family Court and a consultant to the
Division of Youth and Family Services. He has staff privileges at Morristown Memorial Hospital and the Bonnie Brae Educational Center. Specialty areas include custody and
parenting time evaluation, forensic assessment, mediation, parenting coordination, therapeutic mediation, expert witness testimony, and couples and family therapy.
